Is there such a thing as rock anymore? It's alternative, or it's pop, or it's metal, or it's industrial, or it's techno. Or, it's Pitchshifter, who are all of the above... and then some. The influence of old-school punk like the Dead Kennedys is obvious, especially on songs like "As Seen on TV" ("When sport utility vehicles are no longer enough, you need the Terminator!"), but Pitchshifter have accomplished the difficult trick of melding several genres into a distinct sound. Perfectly at home in goth dance clubs and on the Ozzfest tour, they sprawl into head-spinning electronica experiments or straight-ahead riffage ("Stronger"'s guitar line sounds like it was written by Rob Zombie), and they're never boring. What more could any punk/metal/rivet-head ask for? --Genevieve Williams siehe details
